Florida Ruffin Ridley School (a.k.a. Coolidge Corner School and/or FRR) is located on Harvard Street in the vibrant Coolidge Corner neighborhood, and abuts Stedman Street.

The school, which was founded in 1892 and rebuilt in 2018, is Brookline’s largest elementary school with over 800 students. As part of the renovation a turf athletic field was added to the school’s property.

Florida Ruffin Ridley School is public-transportation friendly. The school is less than a five minute walk to the Coolidge Corner T-Stop (C Line) on Beacon Street, and a roughly 10 minute walk to multiple B Line stops (Harvard Ave, Packard’s Corner, and Babcock Street). The MBTA also operates the popular 66 bus which goes to Harvard Square in Cambridge as well as the Longwood Medical area, Northeastern University, Alston, and Roxbury.

Children from Coolidge Corner attend Florida Ruffin Ridley School, which is also home to the District’s Learning Center (TLC) program. The TLC is a special education and supportive service-based program for students with a history of emotional disabilities which impact their learning.
